Summary, etc.
520 8# - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. To study the importance of polymorphisms of P-selectin (Thr715Pro), of the P-selectin ligand PSGL-1d (VNTR and M62l) and of tissue factor (-1208l / D in the etiopathogenesis of venous thromboembolic disease (VTE) in young patients
Procedures: 82 patients with VTE and igaul age or less than 50 years were selected. Forty-one patients with idiopathic VTE (Group 1), (age 34.4 + -9.61 years; 51% women) and 41 patients with VTE associated with the most prevalent thrombopholia genetic factors (factor V Leiden and prothrombin G20210A mutation ) (group 2) (age 34.2 + -11.7 years; 63% women) 82 healthy colony controls matched by age and sex. Polymorphisms of P-selectin (Thr715Pro), PSGL-1 (VNTR and M 62l) and tissue factor (-1208l /) were determined by PCR.
Results: There were no differences in the distribution of genotypes of P-selectin Thr715Pro, PSGL-1 VNTR and tissue factor -1208l / D between controls and patient groups. For PSGL-1 M62l polymorphism, the prevalence of heterozygous carriers (M / I) was significantly higher in patients in group 2 (25%) qu3 in those in group1 (15%) or in the control group (10%) (p> 0.05)
Conclusions: M62l polymorphism of PSGL-1 may contribute to thrombotic expression in young patients protonating factor V Leiden or prothrombin G20210A mutation
