Fisioterapia en la artropatía hemofílica de rodilla = physiotherapy in haemophilic arthropathy of the knee / Santamaría-González VF, Rachwani-Parshotam J.
Summary: Hemophilia is an inherited disorder caused by a mutation in the gene responsible for encoding the coagulation factor and located on the X chromosome. This chromosomal involvement leads to an inadequate ability of the body to maintain the normal physiology of hemostasis. As a result, hemorrhages appear in different anatomical regions, prevailing, among them, those of intra-articular character, which constitute the most relevant clinical manifestation of the disease. Its appearance repeatedly in the joints produces a joint degeneration called hemophilic arthropathy. Its main incidence affects the femoro-tibial and tibio-peroneum-astragaline joints. Within the interdisciplinary health team responsible for the hemophiliac patient, it is currently demonstrated that the physiotherapist has a fundamental role, both in the prevention and in the treatment of the organic consequences derived from said arthropathy. There are a variety of scales to assess the degenerative degree of hemophilic arthropathy, normally used by the rehabilitating physician, to record joint damage and monitor the patient's evolution. However, it is of vital importance that the physiotherapist perform an examination of certain musculoskeletal aspects, including pain, which allows him to establish an effective and individualized physiotherapeutic treatment.Item type | Current library | Collection | Call number | Status | Notes | Date due | Barcode |
