Para ello, tras realizar una descripción de los parámetros eléctricos y la técnica de aplicación de FES, hemos revisado los distintos sistemas de FES que se utilizan para la bipedestación y marcha para restaurar la función de la mano del tetrapléjico y los sistemas de antiequino funcional. Determinando cuáles son las indicaciones precisas de estos sistemas y cuáles son las ventajas y sobre todo los inconvenientes que provocan que su uso no esté más extendido en el ámbito de la lesión medular. La utilización desde una fase precoz del tratamiento, junto con un entrenamiento adecuado y flexible con un sistema de FES transcutáneo o estimulación de superficie y la implantación de un dispositivo percutáneo sólo en los casos en los que se haya utilizado previamente con éxito sistemas de superficie, puede mejorar la aplicación de estos dispositivos y evitar el fracaso por no adecuarse a las expectativas creadas.Summary: The aim of this article is to analyze the applications of the functional electrical stimulation (FES) in spinal cord injured. For it, after realizing a description of the electrical parameters, and the way of application of FES, we have checked the different FES systems that are used for the standing position and walk, to restore the functions of the thetraplegic hand and the antiequine functional systems. Determining which are the precise indications of these systems and which are the advantages and the overcoat the disadvantages that provoque its use is not more extended in the area on the spinal cord inyury. The utilitation since an early phase of the treatment, together with a suitable and flexible training with a transcutaneous FES system or surface stimulation and the implantation of a percutaneous device only in the case in which surface systems have been used before and successfully, it can improve tha aplication of these device and to avoid the failure for not being adapted to the expectatives
