Summary: Despite the therapeutical effect of the «parafango» (parafango is a preparation made of mud and paraffin) and frequently used in thermotherapy, there are few scientific studies in which we could see these two: solid and liquid preparation for the purpose of research. For this reason, three years ago a team of university researchers and professionals in this field started to collect data an information to carry this research This team of researchers conducted their studies in the University Hospital Clínico in Valencia. The purpose of this study is to establish the quantitative interrelation between the loss of heat of the parafango and the increase of temperature on the skin observed during a specific predertermingperiod of time (20 minutes). Sixty two patients took part in this study.
