Introducción: Se pueden identificar diferentes terapias de tratamiento para la mejora de la marcha en pacientes que han sufrido una lesión medular, sobre todo en aquellos con lesión incompleta. Se pretende con esta revisión, conocer un poco más sobre las distintas terapias para concluir decidiendo cuál de ellas es más eficaz, de acuerdo con su evidencia científica. Destacan entre las terapias más utilizadas y con mayor positividad en los resultados: las que utilizan electroestimulación, terapias de entrenamiento locomotor convencional y las que utilizan soportes externos robóticos, como medidas de mejora de la marcha.<br/>Objetivo: Conocer los beneficios del uso de distintas técnicas fisioterápicas en la rehabilitación del patrón de marcha en pacientes con lesión medular.<br/>Material y método: Se ha llevado a cabo una revisión bibliográfica en las bases de datos Medline, PEDro, ENFISPO y ScienceDirect de estudios publicados entre el año 2009 y 2014 en lengua inglesa, italiana o española, realizados sobre sujetos diagnosticados de lesión medular.<br/>Resultado: Siguiendo una estrategia de búsqueda en las bases de datos anteriormente citadas, se acaba obteniendo un total de 16 artículos: 4/16 estudian el efecto de la electroestimulación o tratamientos eléctricos. 5/16, lo hacen sobre el entrenamiento locomotor. 2/16, sobre la combinación de dos terapias de las citadas anteriormente. 3/16, tratan el uso de soportes robóticos. Los 2 artículos restantes, uno compara los beneficios de la terapia convencional y el tratamiento en cinta rodante; y el otro, trata sobre el uso de señales externas como beneficiosas para la marcha.<br/>Conclusión: El uso de terapias combinadas parece ser la mejor opción a la hora de la mejora de la marcha en pacientes con lesión medular. Y también, encontramos una gran evidencia sobre el uso de soportes externos como un exoesqueleto robótico, o Lokomat.<br/> |

Introduction: It can identify different therapy treatments to improve walking in patients who have suffered a spinal cord injury, especially in those with incomplete injury. The aim of this review, learn more about the various therapies to conclude deciding which one is more effective , according to the scientific evidence. Prominent among the therapies most used and most positive results: those that use functional electrical stimulation, conventional locomotor training, and using robotic external media, such as measures to improve the walk.<br/>Objective: Understand the benefits of using different physical therapies in the rehabilitation of gait pattern in patients with spinal cord injury.<br/>Material and method: We conducted a systematic review in Medline, PEDro, and ScienceDirect ENFISPO of studies published between 2009 and 2014 in English, Italian or Spanish language, conducted on subjects diagnosed with SCI data.<br/>Results: Following a search strategy on the databases of above-mentioned, end up getting a total of 16 items: 4/16 studied the effect of functional electrical stimulation or electric treatments. 5/16, locomotor training. 2/16, combination of the both therapies mentioned above. 3/16, discuss the use of robotic media. The remaining two articles, one compares the benefits of conventional therapy and treatment treadmill; and the other deals with the use of external signals as beneficial for the march.<br/>Discussion and Conclusion: The use of combined therapies appears to be the best choice when it comes to improving walking in patients with spinal cord injury. And also, we find strong evidence for the use of external media such as a robotic exoskeleton, or Lokomat.<br/> |
