La identidad es una forma individualizada insertada en una red de pertenencia. La construcción de ella es un proceso continuo de relación discursiva entre cómo nos definimos y como nos definen. La actividad de cuidar ha evolucionado a lo largo de la historia en consonancia con los contextos socioculturales en los que se ha ido enmarcando.<br/>El objetivo de este estudio es examinar el proceso de configuración identitaria en el seno de la profesión enfermera y la articulación de dicho proceso con factores históricos, con las transformaciones de carácter político, económico y simbólico que la han acompañado. Se pretende exponer tal problemática, sus orígenes e implicaciones, a la vez que establecer las relaciones entre los diferentes aspectos que lo conforman y lo matizan.<br/>El trabajo pretende mediante una revisión bibliográfica explorar la configuración de la identidad de la enfermería en aquellas instituciones en las que esta se ha venido desarrollando tanto en su formación como en su práctica y los factores históricos que han influido en configurarla. Para ello se ha utilizado a los autores como personas informantes a través de sus obras para poder terminar de comprender cuales son o han sido los conflictos y las contradicciones que acompañan a la enfermería en la actualidad.<br/>Los factores religiosos, políticos, de género, sociales y académicos, que históricamente han ido construyendo la identidad enfermera provocan en el mundo moderno una crisis de identidad en el colectivo enfermero. El reconocimiento como profesión, exige profesionalismo, fundamentación, independencia en la toma de decisiones propias y solo desde el empoderamiento de las propias enfermeras se puede alcanzar el máximo desarrollo y el compromiso con la sociedad<br/> |

Identity is an individually form inserted in a network belonging. The construction of the identity is a continuous process of discursive relationship between how we define ourselves and how others define us. The activity of taking care has developed throughout history in accordance with the sociocultural contexts where the activity has belonged.<br/>This study is going to try to understand the conflicting identity configuration process of Nursing as a career and also the articulation of such process with historical factors and political, economic and symbolic changes that had accompanied it. It is intended to expose here the origins and implications of the mentioned process, and also to establish the relationships between the different aspects that form and define it.<br/>The work pretends to determine by a bibliographic review and a content analysis, the identity of nursing in those institutions whereas both Nursing education and practice have been developed and the historical elements that have influenced to configure it. To do so authors have been used as reporting people trough they works to end up understanding which are the conflicts and contradictions that live with nursing nowadays.<br/>The religious, political, gender, social and academic factors that historically have been building the Identity of nursing are causing an identity crisis in the nursing profession in the modern world. The recognition as a profession requires professionalism, basis, independence in decision making and only from the empowerment of nurses themselves the maximum development and commitment to society can be achieved<br/> |
