Introducción: La violencia de género es definida como “todo acto de violencia basado en el género que tiene como resultado posible o real un daño físico, sexual o psicológico, incluidas las amenazas, coerción o la privación arbitraria de la libertad, ya sea que ocurre en la vida pública o en la vida privada”. No ha sido hasta los últimos años que se plantean medidas de protección, así como leyes y normas para garantizar los derechos de las mujeres. El presente trabajo tiene como objetivos identificar los recursos con los que cuenta el personal sanitario para el abordaje de la violencia de género, así como las actuaciones y dificultades que encuentran durante el proceso.<br/>Material y método: Se realizó una búsqueda bibliográfica en las bases científicas Medline (Pubmed), Dialnet, Cinhal y Lilacs, obteniéndose 13 artículos para la resolución de los objetivos planteados.<br/>Resultados: Existen una serie de recursos que facilitan y complementan las actuaciones de los profesionales de la salud para el abordaje de la violencia de género. La falta de tiempo específico para abordar estos problemas, la formación insuficiente en algunos de estos profesionales, así como los recursos limitados que se ponen a disposición de estos afectan a la realización de estas acciones y solo se compensa, en ocasiones, gracias a la buena actitud de los mismos.<br/>Conclusiones: Los principales recursos para abordar la violencia de género deberían incrementarse ya que, además de no haber muchos, hay una serie de dificultades que no favorecen su uso. Esto mismo repercute en las actuaciones llevadas a cabo por el personal sanitario.<br/> |

Introduction: Gender-based violence is defined as “any act of violence that results in actual or posible physical, sexual or psychological harm, including threats, coerción or arbitrary deprivation of liberty, whether ir occurs in public or private life”. It has not been until recent years that protection measures are proposed, as well as laws and regulations to guarantee women’s rights. The aim of this paper is to identify the resources available to health workers to address gender-based violence, as well as the actions and difficulties they encounter during the process.<br/>Material and method: A bibliographic search was carried out in the scientific bases Medline (Pubmed), Dialnet, Cinahl and Lilacs, obtaining 13 articles for the resolution of the proposed objectives.<br/>Results: There are a number of resources that facilitate and complement health professionals actions to address gender-based violence. The lack of specific time to address these problems, the insuficient training of some of these professionals, as well as the limited resources made available to them affect the implementation of these actions and are only compensated, sometimes, thanks to their good attitude.<br/>Conclusions: Main resources to address gender-based violence should be increased as, in addition to being few, there are some difficulties that do not favor its use. This also has an impact on the actions carried out by the health workers.<br/> |
