El presente trabajo pretende determinar, tras el análisis de diferentes fuentes documentales históricas, cual ha sido la primera obra relevante escrita en lengua castellana sobre electroterapia, recogiendo, además de un intento de explicación subyacente al fenómeno de la electricidad, las primeras aplicaciones de este agente físico en el ámbito de la terapéutica realizadas en nuestro país. Apoyados además en la opinión de prestigiosos historiadores,concluimos que la primera obra referente a la electroterapia en nuestro país ha sido la escrita por José Vázquez y Morales, titulada Ensayo sobre la Electricidad de los Cuerpos, publicada en Madrid, en 1747. |

The present work tries to determine, after the analysis of different documentary historical sources, which has been the first relevan! work written in spanish language on electrotherapy, gathering, besides an attempt of underlying explanalion to the phenomenon of the electricity, the first app/ications of this physical agent conducted in the area of the therapeutics, in our country. Supported in addition on the opinion of prestigious historians, we conc/ude that the first work relating to the electrotherapy in our country was written by Jase Vazquez y Morales, titled Ensayo sobrela Electricidad de los Cuerpos, published in Madrid, in 1747. |
