La preeclampsia es una patología caracterizada por la aparición de hipertensión a partir de la semana 20 de gestación junto con proteinuria, con o sin edemas.<br/>El síndrome de HELLP es una complicación de los cuadros de preeclampsia y eclampsia caracterizada por la presencia de hemólisis, elevación de las enzimas hepáticas y plaquetopenia.<br/>Se presenta un caso de preeclampsia grave y síndrome de HELLP en una gestante, detectado por la matrona de atención primaria en una clase de educación maternal, que presentaba edemas generalizados.<br/>Ante esta situación, se realizó de inmediato una exploración en la que se halló hipertensión, proteinuria, edemas y escotomas, por lo que se derivó urgentemente a la gestante al hospital, donde se le realizó una cesárea urgente con resultados maternofetales satisfactorios. |

Preeclampsia is a disorder characterized by hypertension that appears starting from 20 weeks gestation with proteinuria, and with or without edema.<br/>HELLP syndrome is a complication of preeclampsia and eclampsia characterized by hemolysis, elevated liver enzymes and thrombocytopenia.<br/>The case presented is a case of severe preeclampsia and HELLP syndrome in a pregnant woman detected by the midwife during a session of maternal education, realizing the midwife of generalized edema in the woman. Inmediatlely a clinical examination was performed finding hypertension, proteinuria, edema; because of this the pregnant woman<br/>was led urgently to hospital where she was made a sucessful cesarean for the mother and for the baby |
