Los programas de fisioterapia para personas mayores de 65 años han mostrado tener una importante capacidad preventiva, siendo actualmente una de las principales herramientas para la promoci´n de la salud en este sector de la poblaci´n.<br/><br/>En este trabajo se estudia el nivel de integraci´n de la Fisioterapia en la residencias para personas mayores de la regi´n de Murcia vinculadas al Instituto de Servicios Sociales de la Regi´n de Murcia (ISSORM) con el objetivo de determinar si realmente los responsables de la direcci´n de estos centros conocen y explotan de forma adecuada el Servicio de Fisioterapia a favor de la salud de sus residentes.<br/><br/>De los resultados obtenidos destaca, entre otros, que el 29% de las residencias estudiadas no dispone de Servicio de Fisioterapia, asì como de geriatras (37,5%), enfermeros (16,67%) y otros profesionales de la salud; s´lo el 37,5% de las residencias desarrolla actualmente algún tipo de programa de actividad fìsica de carácter preventivo con los residentes sanos y además en el 22,2% de los casos el programa estádiseñado y desarrollado por profesionales no especializados. |

Physiotherapy programmes for elderly people (over 65 years of age) have shown an important preventive capacity. Currently, they are a valuable tool for health promotion in this sector of the population. This work studies the integration of Physiotherapy in Murciaśnursing home residences linked to the Institute of Social Services in the Region of Murcia (ISSORM)<br/><br/>The principal aim is to determine if these centres' directors are aware of and use the Physiotherapy Service to improve residents' health.<br/><br/>Results show that 29% of nursing home residences do not have a Physiotherapy Service, nor geriatric service (37.5%) nor other health professionals. Actually, only 37.5% of nursing home residences develop any physical activity programmes of a preventive nature for healthy residents. Also, in 22.2% of these centres the program is designed and developed by non-specialist professionals. |
