| Summary, etc. | La Enfermería Moderna se caracteriza por el empleo de una metodología y se fundamenta sobre una sólida base científica, desarrollada fundamentalmente durante la segunda mitad el pasado siglo XX. No obstante, anteriormente a esa época existían ya en nuestro país testimonios documentales escritos por enfermeros en los que se mostraba un gran interés por una práctica metódica, caracterizada por el rigor en el trabajo y en la enseñanza de los futuros enfermeros. En el presente trabajo se muestra uno de esos textos, concluido a mediados del siglo XVII, en el cual se observa una profunda preocupación por el empleo de un método enfermero y de un trabajo asistencial y docente basado en los conocimientos científicos de la época, intentando con ello establecer diferencias entre el propio trabajo enfermero y el realizado por otros profesionales de la salud. |

| Summary, etc. | Modern nursing is characterised by the employment of a methodology and is fundamented on a solid scientific base that was largely developed during the second half of the XX century. Nevertheless, prior to that time, in our country there already existed documented testimonials written by nurses showing great interest for a methodological practice, characterised by rigorous work and dedicated teaching to the future nursing professionals. This paper depicts one of said texts that was finished in the mid XVII century and that showed a deep concern for the employment of a nursing method in the delivery of direct healthcare and teaching standards based on the knowledge available at that time, with the intention of establishing the differences between a nurse’s personal way of providing the nursing care as opposed to that of other healthcare professionals. |
