| Summary, etc. | En el ámbito del quirófano, el uso de rayos X ha permitido realizar importantes progresos en el diagnóstico y tratamiento de múltiples enfermedades. Pero esta práctica no está exenta de riesgos para la salud de los pacientes y los profesionales implicados, derivados de la exposición a las radiaciones.<br/>Actualmente, existen una serie de normas y medidas cuya observación permite trabajar con radiaciones ionizantes en el quirófano en condiciones de seguridad y con los mínimos riesgos para la salud.<br/>El propósito de este trabajo es contribuir al uso adecuado y seguro de los Rx en el quirófano mediante la revisión de los conceptos fundamentales sobre la naturaleza de las radiaciones ionizantes, las posibles consecuencias para la salud derivadas de su utilización y las principales medidas de protección que se deben adoptar |

| Summary, etc. | In the operating room setting, the use of X rays has made important advances in the diagnosis and treatment of many diseases. But this practice is not without risks arising from exposure to radiation to the health of patients and health professionals involved.<br/>Currently, there are a number of rules and measures that when complied make it possible to work with ionizing radiation in the operating room safely and with minimal health risks.<br/>The purpose of this paper is to contribute to safe and appropriate use of Rx in the operating room by reviewing the fundamental concepts about the nature of ionizing radiation, possible health consequences arising from their use and the main measures of protection to be taken. |
