La enfermería ha ido evolucionando de forma paralela al desarrollo de la humanidad,<br/>al igual que el concepto de cuidado. Dependiendo de la época que se estudie se<br/>observa que el concepto de salud y enfermedad varía, y solían estar influenciados por<br/>las creencias religiosas, la superstición y los fenómenos naturales de cada cultura y<br/>sociedad, hasta los últimos tiempos que ya se limitan a los conceptos científicos.<br/>El objetivo del presente trabajo es dar a conocer la historia de la enfermería y la<br/>evolución de los cuidados en España, así como la transformación de la figura de la<br/>matrona, de su formación y de las distintas técnicas de asistencia al parto.<br/>El método utilizado para realizar el trabajo ha sido el histórico, en concreto el<br/>cronológico. Se han usado distintas fuentes documentales, tanto físicas como<br/>electrónicas, para recoger la información necesaria.<br/>Se pretende dar una visión general y objetiva de dichos acontecimientos haciendo un<br/>recorrido por las diferentes etapas que se han ido desarrollando conforme han ido<br/>evolucionando ambas profesiones.<br/>El oficio de matrona, al igual que la enfermería, ha sufrido distintos procesos evolutivos<br/>tanto en su formación, como en las técnicas que se han utilizado para asistir los partos.<br/>Se han analizado todos ellos para poder comprender la principal función actual de<br/>estas enfermeras especialistas y el porqué de la unificación de esta profesión con la<br/>carrera de enfermería.<br/>Tras finalizar la recogida de información y de desarrollar el trabajo, todos los objetivos<br/>establecidos se han cumplido. |

Nursing has been evolved at the same time that the development of humanity and the<br/>concept of care. Depending on the time studied, it is observed that the concept of<br/>health and disease varies, these terms used to be influenced by religious beliefs,<br/>superstition and the natural phenomena of each culture and society, until nowadays<br/>that are already limited to scientific concepts.<br/>The objective of this work is to present the history of nursing and the evolution of care<br/>in Spain, as well as the evolution of the midwife, their training and the different<br/>techniques of assistance to childbirth.<br/>The method used to carry out the work has been historical, specifically chronological.<br/>Different documentary sources, both physical and electronic, have been used to collect<br/>the necessary information.<br/>It is hoped to give a general and objective overview of these events by taking a tour of<br/>the different stages, that have been developed, as they have evolved both professions.<br/>The profession of midwife, like nursing, has been changing in two different ways: in<br/>their training, as much as in the techniques that has been used to assist births. All of<br/>them have been studied to understand the main role of these specialist nurses and the<br/>reason for the unification of this studies with the nursing career.<br/>After completing the collection of information and developing the proyect, all the<br/>established targets have been achieved. |
