Introducción: los trastornos temporomandibulares afectan al 30-50% de la población al menos una vez en la vida. En los últimos años han cobrado una mayor incidencia y prevalencia, aunque existe aún gran controversia acerca de su etiología, diagnóstico y tratamiento. Se ha documentado que el abordaje de la articulación temporomandibular en esta patología produce cambios distales en el control postural. Las alteraciones en el control postural pueden significar cambios a la hora de la práctica de numerosos deportes y una mayor tendencia a las lesiones deportivas. <br/>Objetivos: valorar la efectividad de la compresión isquémica y la inhibición suboccipital como tratamiento del control postural asociado a trastorno temporomandibular en jugadoras de baloncesto de alto rendimiento. Valorar a medio y largo plazo. Así como, relacionar alteraciones del control postural con los trastornos temporomandibulares y extraer la incidencia de dichos trastornos en el baloncesto femenino federado. <br/>Material y Método: la muestra será aleatorizada en dos grupos: grupo control y grupo experimental; con 47 sujetos por grupo. A todos se les aplicará la compresión isquémica bilateral en pterigoideos laterales y al grupo experimental además se le aplicará la inhibición suboccipital. Se valorará el dolor (EVA), el trastorno temporomandibular (Cuestionario de Fonseca), el equilibrio (SEBT) y el control postural (baropodómetro) a medio y largo plazo. El estudio se realizará a triple ciego.<br/> |

Introduction: temporomandibular disorders affect over 30-50% of the population at least once in life. In recent years, there has been a higher incidence and prevalence, although there is still great controversy about its etiology, diagnosis and treatment. It has been documented that the approach of the temporomandibular joint in this pathology produces distal changes in postural control. Alterations in postural control can mean changes when practicing numerous sports and a greater tendency to sports injuries. <br/>Objectives: to assess the effectiveness of ischemic compression and suboccipital inhibition as a treatment of postural control associated with temporomandibular disorder in high performance basketball players. Value in the medium and long term. As well as, relate alterations of postural control with temporomandibular disorders and extract the incidence of said disorders in women's federated basketball. <br/>Material and Method: the sample will be randomized into two groups: control group and experimental group; with 47 subjects per group. The bilateral ischemic compression in lateral pterygoids will be applied to all and the experimental group will also be subjected to suboccipital inhibition. Pain (VAS), temporomandibular disorder (Fonseca questionnaire), balance (SEBT) and postural control (baropodometer) in the medium and long term will be evaluated. The study will be done triple blind.<br/> |
