520 | 3 | _aLas ER tienen un gran impacto económico y social debido a su alta prevalencia en la población mundial. Dentro de las ER se encuentra una lista de entidades que por el número de casos son consideradas como “raras”. Pese al bajo coste económico global, estas enfermedades tienen un fuerte impacto en las personas que las sufren. La literatura científica contempla en ocasiones un manejo multidisciplinar bien definido para las ER. De entre todas las disciplinas que se enmarcan dentro de los tratamientos, la fisioterapia ha demostrado desempeñar un rol fundamental en estos casos. Sin embargo, para las ER raras, las teorías de tratamiento resultan más confusas. Aun así, la terapia manual desarrollada por fisioterapeutas, parece ofrecer un tratamiento de vital importancia en la mejora de la calidad de vida de los pacientes con ER poco comunes. En esta revisión bibliográfica se recogen los estudios que abordan este problema y se ofrecen distintas alternativas para el escenario actual y futuro de la relación de la fisioterapia con las ER raras | |

Within the realm of Rheumatic Diseases there is a number of entities which are considered rare because of the low number of cases . The global financial cost of such diseases is low, but the impact they have on the lives of those who suffer from them is high. Scientific literature occasionally considers a well defined multidisciplinary management for these Rheumatic Diseases. Amongst all the different disciplines from with in all available treatments, physiotherapy has proven to be an effective method in dealing with these cases. However, in the case of these rare Rheumatic Diseases, the theories for treatment are rather confusing. Even so, the physical therapy developed by physiotherapists has proven to be highly effective in improving the quality of life of those patients suffering from less common Rheumatic Diseases. In this review, there´s a compilation of studies dealing with this issue and the different alternatives available now and in the future regarding the relationship between Physiotherapy and rare Rheumatic Diseases. Among all the disciplines framed by all treatments towards rheumatic diseases physiotherapy has proved to accomplish a fundamental roll in these cases. However for those rare rheumatic diseases theories about treatment come of more confuse. For all that manual therapy performed by a physiotherapist seems to provide a vital treatment improving quality of life in patients with non common rheumatic diseases. In this review different studies addressing this matter are gathered and different alternatives for the current and future scenario of physiotherapy related to rare diseases are offered | |
