N2  - One of the main problems that arise during the diagnosis of infectious diseases is the correct collection of samples, an issue that is often not given due importance, and which, however, is the foundation of all subsequent work. To isolate pathogenic microorganisms, it is essential to collect samples in the proper way and under proper conditions. A poorly collected sample can be the cause of failure to isolate the responsible microorganism, and therefore, in the etiological diagnosis of the disease, and cause the appearance of contaminating germs that lead to erroneous or harmful antibiotic therapy for the patient.
Once again, the work of the nursing staff in charge of collecting most of the samples is essential for a correct diagnosis
