N2  - The Nitrogen Balance (B.N.) is essential in nutritional techniques to demonstrate the effective protein-caloric performance of the subject subjected to Enteral or Patenteral Nutrition.
The B.N. It is nothing more than the difference that exists between the global protein supply to the organism and its losses. The most accurate method for this calculation is the Kjeldahl method, but it requires expensive and delicate equipment. Avoiding this problem we use a modification of the method of S. Dudrick. The calculation of nitrogen losses represents a reliable and simple method to elaborate the B.N. in the patient subjected to Artificial Nutrition
