N2  - The existence of postoperative pulmonary complications-especially atelectasis and infection-is not only an easily observable fact, but a sad reality that explains the prolonged hospitalization of some patients and the delay in their recovery and return to normal life.
Acknowledging their existence is not only insufficient but totally useless, if the necessary means are not put in place to prevent them.
This paper aims to analyze the issue of pre and postoperative care for patients undergoing thoracic intervention. For this, in addition to the theoretical study of the subject, we have reviewed our experience in a series of forty patients, which corresponds to the last ones operated on in the Unit and who underwent pre and postoperative physiotherapy
