N2  - The loss of potassium from an organism, and the consequent decrease, are called hypokalemia. But if the levels of potassium in the blood are very high, it is called hyperkalemia.
In both cases, we are dealing with an alteration of the potassium balance-regulator of intracellular osmolarity, it influences the conduction of the nerve impulse and the correct function of the skeletal and cardiac muscles-that requires a certain analysis. What is potassium? What is its importance to man and what are its sources? These are questions that this work answers. But, above all, it raises what nursing action should be, as the title announces, both to care for patients with potassium ion disorders, and to detect these disorders
