N2  - Since the discovery and use of antibiotics, back in the 1940s, it was believed that the problem of fighting pathogenic microorganisms had been solved and, therefore, the classic methods of antisepsis and asepsis fell into a relaxation. Today, given the appearance of antibiotic-resistant germs and the secondary development of nosocomial infections in hospitals, new concepts have been perfected in the fight against infection and, once again, antiseptics have acquired a relevant position in the avoidance and prevention of hospital infections. This important topic, which so much affects our daily professional practice, is dealt with in this paper
