N2  - The reliability and efficacy of transcutaneous PO2 and PCO2 measurement (tcPO2 and tcPCO2) has been demonstrated in children and neonates. However, we had little experience in its use with adults. In the present work, we study the advantages of this method practiced in adults. The correlations obtained between POa2 and PCOa2 and PO2tc and PCO2tc were very satisfactory. Thanks to this non-invasive technique, we were able to verify, in daily management with patients, the advantages offered by continuous monitoring of arterial blood gases in high-risk patients, as well as avoiding a large number of extractions and/or punctures, which in these patients are generally subjected to
