N2  - Probably one of the aspects of Epidemiology is that, as a discipline, it develops a series of measures that allow quantifying the occurrence of the disease in the population. This makes it possible to identify the problems that appear, to know which are the most important and to make the pertinent decisions.
In Epidemiology there are three blocks of measurements: frequency; of association; and potential impact. This article analyzes the first block, disease frequency measurements, and does so based on some basic objectives to address, the study of the various measurement instruments and with the help of clarifying examples
