N2  - This article is the result of a broader research project that was carried out in the Nursing Administration and Management postgraduate course, taught at the E.U.E. <<Santa Madrona>>, in Barcelona.
The authors point out the irreversibility of the reform model initiated, considering, based on this new health structure, the necessary functional and organizational definition of the nursing professionals who provide their services as support to the medical specialties. This means analyzing the nursing functions and activities carried out in the medical consultations of the specialty outpatient clinics and verifying their validity, or else considering the opportunity to seek new organizational formulas in accordance with this new health structure
