N2  - One of the most serious problems facing intensive and coronary care units is acute renal failure. Treatment with conventional intermittent dialysis presents great drawbacks and, on some occasions, must be suspended without achieving the desired results due to the great instability of the patients in these units. Continuous arteriovenous hemofiltration (CAVH) and hemodiafiltration (CAVHD) are widely used techniques in these units as an alternative to intermittent dialysis.
