N2  - It is intended to introduce the Nursing professional in the knowledge of the pathophysiological bases and care in the alterations of the acid-base balance. These alterations are detected through laboratory tests and assessment of signs and symptoms that Nursing must be aware of in order to adequately care for patients who suffer from them.
The work consists of three sections. In the first one, the physiological aspects of the acid-base balance are reviewed. In the second, the characteristics of the different alterations of said balance are exposed. Finally, in the third section, Nursing actions in the face of these imbalances are listed
