Introducción: La bronquiolitis aguda es el principal motivo de consulta de las<br/>urgencias médicas durante el invierno en los niños menores de dos años. Los<br/>síntomas en estos niños son: un acceso agudo de sibilancias, fiebre y/o rinorrea<br/>inconstantes, con o sin crujidos o roncus, así como la evidencia de una<br/>hiperinsuflación demostrada por una radiografía. Pueden presentarse también tos y<br/>disnea. La Fisioterapia Respiratoria puede ayudar en la mejora de estos síntomas.<br/>Objetivo: Realizar una revisión de los estudios publicados recientemente que tratan<br/>la actuación de la Fisioterapia Respiratoria en la bronquiolitis del lactante, asociando<br/>la técnicas de espiración lenta prolongada. Material y Métodos: He realizado una<br/>búsqueda bibliográfica haciendo uso de los recursos de las bases de datos Pubmed,<br/>La biblioteca Chrocane Plus, PEDro, Free Medical Journal, Google académico,<br/>Biomed Central, Respiratory Care Journal y en libros de Neumología clínica y<br/>Fisioterapia Respiratoria. Los criterios de inclusión han sido: trabajos publicados del<br/>año 2000 en adelante, realizados en niños menores de 24 meses y con acceso al<br/>texto completo. Resultados: Se han obtenido 11 artículos válidos, de los cuales 7<br/>son estudios originales y 4 de ellos revisiones. He elegido los artículos en los que se<br/>asocia la Bronquiolitis con un tratamiento de Fisioterapia Respiratoria, excluyendo<br/>aquellos que no hablaran de un técnica fisioterápica concreta, o que no se centraran<br/>en el objetivo principal. Conclusiones: Existen evidencias que determinan que la<br/>Fisioterapia Respiratoria asociada a la Espiración Lenta Prolongada en la<br/>Bronquiolitis del lactante mejora la clínica del paciente. Queda pendiente la<br/>realización de estudios para determinar los grados de mejora en la aplicación del<br/>tratamiento. |

Introduction: Acute Bronchiolitis is the main reason for consultation in the medical<br/>emergencies during winter in children under two. Its symptoms in these children are:<br/>an acute wheezing, inconstant fever and/or rhinorrhea, with or without crepitation or<br/>roncus, as well as the evidence of a hyperinflation shown in an X-ray image. Cough<br/>and dyspnea can appear. Chest Physical Therapy may help improve the symptoms.<br/>Objetive: To check the recently published studies dealing with the behaviour of Chest<br/>Physical Therapy in the infant’s Bronchiolitis, associating the Prolonged Slow<br/>Expiration’s techniques. Material and method: A bibliographical search has been<br/>made using the resources of different databases, as Pubmed, the Chrocane Plus<br/>Library, PEDro Medical Journal, Google academic, Biomed Central and Respiratory<br/>Care Journal; as well as books about clinical Pneumology and Chest Physical<br/>Therapy. The following inclusion criteria have been used: works published from 2002<br/>onwards, based on children under 24 months of age, with access to the whole text.<br/>Results: 11 valid articles have been obtained, of which just seven were original<br/>studies and 4 of these reviews. The articles where Bronchiolitis is associated with<br/>Chest Physical Therapy have been chosen, excluding those which were not related<br/>to a specific physiotherapy technique, or those which did not focus on the main<br/>objective. Conclusions: There is evidence which determines that Chest Physical<br/>Therapy associated with Prolonged Slow Expiration in the infant’s Bronchiolitis<br/>improves the patient’s clinical training. The studies for determining the improvement’s<br/>degree of the treatment’s application are still outstanding. |
