Introducción: el estudio que se presenta a continuación bajo el título “Tratamiento de fisioterapia en incontinencia urinaria de esfuerzo en varones tras prostatectomía radical” se enmarca en el Trabajo Fin de Grado correspondiente a la Adaptación al Grado en Fisioterapia de la Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca, y se centra en analizar la actividad científica que en este ámbito ha venido desarrollándose en los últimos tiempos y que pueda resultar de mayor interés, con el fin de explorar el estado de la cuestión en la actualidad.<br/>Objetivo: analizar, a través de una revisión bibliográfica de publicaciones recientes, los aspectos más relevantes de investigaciones llevadas a cabo sobre el tratamiento de la incontinencia urinaria de esfuerzo mediante intervención fisioterapéutica, así como los tratamientos más utilizados y la eficacia de los mismos.<br/>Material y Método: se llevó a cabo una búsqueda en las bases de datos Dialnet, ScieELO, MedLine y Google Academic, de estudios publicados que evaluasen aspectos relacionados con el tema objeto de esta revisión bibliográfica. El enfoque metodológico ha sido de carácter cualitativo, consistiendo en un análisis descriptivo, sistemático y no experimental de las publicaciones seleccionadas.<br/>Resultados: los artículos localizados se filtraron según los criterios de inclusión y exclusión establecidos y, teniendo en cuenta las limitaciones de este estudio, se seleccionaron los diez artículos que se ajustaban mejor a nuestro objetivo. El aspecto más investigado ha sido la efectividad de los tratamientos con fisioterapia y se han encontrado datos que constatan los beneficios obtenidos, en especial, con ejercicios de fortalecimiento de musculatura del suelo pélvico realizados de forma precoz tras la operación.<br/>Conclusiones: los presentes estudios parecen confirmar la efectividad del uso de la fisioterapia como opción de tratamiento eficaz para la incontinencia, a pesar de esto se ve la necesidad de desarrollar nuevas investigaciones en este campo que confirmen y justifiquen este tipo de intervención con una mayor base empírica. |

Background: The study presented below under the title "Physiotherapy treatment in stress urinary incontinence in men after radical prostatectomy" fits the End of Degree Project corresponding to the Adaptation Degree in Physiotherapy of the Pontifical University of Salamanca, and focuses on analyzing the scientific activity that in this field has been developed in recent times and that may be of interest, in order to explore the state of the art today.<br/>Objetive: to analyze, through a literature review of recent publications, the most relevant aspects of research conducted on the treatment of urinary incontinence by physiotherapy intervention, and the most used and effective treatment thereof.<br/>Material and Method: it has been conducted a literature search, mainly performed in the databases Dialnet, SciELO, MedLine and Google Academic, on studies published that evaluated aspects of the subject under study. The methodological approach was qualitative, involving a descriptive, systematic and no experimental analysis of selected publications.<br/>Results: localized items were filtered according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria established, and, given the limitations of this study, there have been selected the ten articles that best fit our goals. The most researched aspect has been the effectiveness of treatments with physiotherapy and found data that show the benefits obtained in particular strengthening exercises of the pelvic floor musculature made early after the operation.<br/>Conclusions: these studies seem to confirm the appropiate use of physical therapy as an effective treatment option for incontinence ,despite of this ,it´s necesary to develop new research in this field to confirm and justify this intervention with a larger empirical base. |
