Introducción: la lumbalgia es un problema muy común en nuestra sociedad. Su etiología, aún siendo un problema habitual en la gran mayoría de los casos, es desconocida y además tiene una gran repercusión económica.<br/>Objetivos: con esta revisión se pretende evidenciar la eficacia de la acupuntura con sus diferentes modalidades de aplicación (individualizada, estandarizada y placebo),aislada o combinada con el cuidado convencional para el tratamiento de la lumbalgia crónica.<br/>Material y Método: la revisión bibliográfica se realiza utilizando las siguientes bases de datos PubMed, PEDro, Scielo y el repertorio de revistas BioMed Central, que incluyen ensayos clínicos (aleatorizados, no aleatorizados, cegados, controlados y cruzados), publicados en los últimos 7 años, escritos tanto en lengua inglesa como española, con un valor igual os uperior a 5/10 en la escala PEDro.<br/>Resultados: se encontraron un total de 61 artículos. Finalmente, tras aplicar los criterios de selección y desechar los artículos repetidos, se obtuvo un total de 13 artículos.<br/>Conclusiones: observamos que la aplicación de acupuntura o electroacupuntura puede ser eficaz en el tratamiento de la lumbalgia crónica, principalmente en el alivio del dolor. |

Introduction: low back pain is a very common problem in our society. Its etiology, although it is a common problem in the vast majority of cases, is unknown and also has a great economic impact.<br/>Objectives: this review aims to demonstrate the efficacy of acupuncture with its different application modalities (individualized, standardized and placebo), isolated or combined with conventional care for the treatment of chronic low back pain.<br/>Material and Method: the literature review is performed using the following PubMed, PEDro, Scielo databases and the BioMed Central journal repertoire, which include clinical trials (randomized, non-randomized, blinded, controlled and crossed), published in the last 7 years, written in both English and Spanish, with a value equal to or greater than 5/10 on the PEDro scale.<br/>Results: a total of 61 articles were found. Finally, after applying the selection criteria and discarding the repeated articles, a total of 13 articles were obtained.<br/>Conclusions: we observed that the application of acupuncture or electroacupuncture can be effective in the treatment of chronic low back pain, mainly in the relief of pain. |
