El transporte sanitario aéreo constituye un eslabón fundamental en la atención médica prehospitalaria. Está indicado en situaciones concretas. Factores como la distancia, accesibilidad y gravedad, determinan su idoneidad, y problemas como su coste y la meteorología limitan su empleo.<br/>Un enfermero/a de vuelo es un profesional de la enfermería altamente especializado para prestar cuidados críticos y de emergencia a pacientes durante el traslado en aeronaves.<br/>Los objetivos de este trabajo son:<br/><br/>• Comparar la formación de postgrado de la enfermería de vuelo en los ámbitos civil y militar.<br/>• Contrastar las funciones de los enfermeros/as de vuelo, dentro de las Fuerzas Armadas con el de sus homólogos del sector civil.<br/>• Comparar los servicios de emergencias de diversas comunidades autónomas, donde el personal enfermero civil realiza funciones de enfermería de vuelo.<br/>• Comparar los roles y la formación necesaria para ejercer la enfermería de vuelo en España y en Gran Bretaña.<br/>La metodología empleada para esta revisión bibliográfica, se ha basado en la búsqueda de documentación sobre la enfermería de vuelo en España en bases de de datos y en la búsqueda libre en otras fuentes.<br/>Las funciones y formación en enfermería de vuelo se encuentran estrechamente relacionadas con la enfermería de urgencias y cuidados intensivos.<br/>La enfermería de vuelo militar adquiere una completa formación y parece abarcar un campo más especializado.<br/>En el campo civil existen interesantes, aunque escasas, oportunidades de formación de postgrado en España y Gran Bretaña <br/>En España este rol es desempeñado principalmente en servicios de emergencias, en traslados primarios y a bordo de aeronaves de ala rotaria, mientras las enfermeras británicas trabajan mayormente para empresas privadas en traslados secundarios mediante aeronaves de ala fija.<br/>Las diferencias observadas en cada CC.AA. se basan en particularidades relacionadas con la gran extensión, insularidad, orografía, o población elevada<br/> |

Air medical transport is a key link in the prehospital medical attention. It is indicated in specific situations. Factors such as distance, accessibility and gravity determine its suitability and problems as cost and meteorology limit their use.<br/>A flight nurse is a highly skilled professional nursing who provides critical and emergency care to patients during aeroevacuation.<br/>The objectives of this work are:<br/>• Compare postgraduate training of flight nurses in the civil and military spheres.<br/>Contrast the functions of flight nurses within the military with their counterparts in the civil sector.<br/>• Check the emergency services of various autonomous communities, where civil staff nurse performs flight nursing duties.<br/>• Compare the roles and training required to practice flight nursing in Spain and Britain.<br/>The methodology used for this literature review was based on documents search on the flight nursing in Spain using data bases and a free search.<br/>The functions and training of flight nurses are closely related to the hospital emergency and intensive care.<br/>Military flight nurses acquire full training and appear to cover a more specialized field.<br/>In the civil field sphere are interesting, though limited, opportunities for postgraduate training in Spain and Britain.<br/>In Spain, this role is played mainly within emergency services in primary transfers and onboard helicopters, as British nurses work mostly for private companies in secondary transfers using planes.<br/>The observed differences among CC.AA are based on aspects like its large size, insularity, abrupt orography, or high population<br/> |
