Introducción: La lesión medular se define como una conmoción, compresión, laceración o sección de la medula que produce una pérdida de la función neurológica por debajo de la lesión. Las personas que sufren esta lesión, reciben durante un tiempo importante cuidados enfermeros.<br/>Metodología: El presente estudió se realizó con el objetivo principal de conocer la percepción que tienen los pacientes con lesión medular sobre los cuidados de enfermería recibidos, para ello se optó por un estudio cualitativo de tipo interpretativo con muestreo en bola de nieve. La información se obtuvo a partir de 7 sujetos de edades comprendidas entre los 29 y los 48 años.<br/>Resultados: Se obtuvieron los resultados que hacen referencia a las complicaciones y consecuencias de la LM, aspectos positivos y negativos de la misma y cambios que aportarían a los cuidados de enfermería, señalando lo más significativo la falta de formación especializada y la necesidad de la misma así como la importancia de cambios posturales y de educación sanitaria sin olvidar el aspecto psicológico necesario para afrontar la nueva situación del sujeto.<br/>Discusión y conclusiones: Los pacientes han reseñado que debemos centrarnos en la especialización de la enfermería pues en muchos de los casos aparecen complicaciones o simplemente signos y síntomas que se interpretan de forma errónea o no se interpretan<br/> |

Introduction: Spinal cord injury is defined as a concussion, compression, laceration or medulla section producing a loss of the neurological function below the injury. People who suffer this injury, received for a significant time nursing care.<br/>Methodology: This study was conducted with the main objective to know the perception of patients with spinal cord injury on nursing care received for that we chose a qualitative interpretative study with snowball sampling. The information was obtained from 7 subjects aged between 29 and 48 years.<br/>Results: The results refer to the complications and consequences of LM, positive and negative aspects of it and changes it would bring were obtained Nursing, noting the most significant lack of specialized training and the need for it and the importance of postural changes and health education without forgetting the psychological aspect needed to face the new situation of the subject.<br/>Discussion and Conclusions: Patients have reported that we should focus on specialization of nursing since in many cases appear complications or just signs and symptoms that are interpreted incorrectly or not interpreted<br/> |
