En el presente trabajo se plantea un plan de cuidados estandarizado, relacionado con un paciente ingresado en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos (UCI) por sospecha o confirmación de Muerte Encefálica (ME).<br/>Introducción: Este paciente, es considerado un posible donante de órganos debido a sus condiciones fisiológicas. La ME supone el cese o alteración de ciertas funciones del organismo: cese de la función de las estructuras cerebrales, cese de la respiración espontánea, inestabilidad hemodinámica y otras alteraciones que pueden comprometer la viabilidad de los órganos. La ME se suele producir por lesiones irreversibles del tejido cerebral, pudiendo tener diferentes etiologías.<br/>Material y método: el presente estudio se ha realizado mediante la búsqueda de artículos en bases de datos y el plan de cuidados se ha elaborado según los criterios de clasificación de diagnósticos enfermeros NANDA, criterios de resultados NOC e intervenciones enfermeras NIC, previamente valorando al paciente y la familia mediante los patrones funcionales de Marjory Gordon. <br/>Resultados: el plan de cuidados debe combinar aspectos técnicos y humanos, tanto sobre el paciente como sobre la familia. La actuación de enfermería se debe involucrar en el tratamiento de los problemas de salud que dependen de la labor médica, evitando las posibles complicaciones y aplicando el tratamiento prescrito, conocidos como problemas de colaboración, por lo que se describen los diagnósticos enfermeros junto con los objetivos y las intervenciones a realizar.<br/>Discusión y conclusiones: la enfermería tiene una labor independiente, un grupo heterogéneo de actividades donde la enfermera adopta un rol de cuidador de cara al posible donante y la familia, con el fin de llevar a cabo unos cuidados de calidad y que abarquen holísticamente al paciente.<br/> |

In this work, a standardized care plan arises, related to a patient admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for suspected or confirmed Brain Death (ME).<br/>Introduction: This patient is considered a potential organ donor because of their physiological conditions. The ME involves the termination or alteration of certain body functions: cessation of function of brain structures, cessation of spontaneous breathing, hemodynamic instability and other disturbances that can compromise the viability of organs. The ME is often caused by irreversible damage to the brain tissue, may have different etiologies.<br/>Methods: This study was performed using the search in databases and the care plan has been prepared according to the classification of nursing diagnoses NANDA, performance criteria NOC and nursing interventions NIC previously assessing the patient and the family through the functional patterns of Marjory Gordon.<br/>Results: The care plan must combine technical and human aspects, both on the patient and the family. Nursing performance should be involved in the treatment of health problems that depend on the medical work, avoiding possible complications and applying the prescribed known treatment as collaborative problems, so that nursing diagnoses are described along with the objectives and interventions to be performed.<br/>Discussion and conclusions: nursing has a separate work, a heterogeneous group of activities where the nurse takes a caregiver role facing the potential donor and family in order to carry out quality care and that holistically encompass the patient<br/> |
