Introducción: La despoblación representada por la España Vaciada plasma una densidad de población de 12,5 habitantes por km2 afectando al 53% de la población española y a más de 4.200 municipios españoles. Las cuatro categorías que comprenden los espacios rurales según la cantidad de habitantes se dividen en: profundo, estancado, transitorio y dinámico, siendo común en todos ellos la disminución de población y una alta edad avanzada en la población. Debido a la baja densidad de población y la dispersión geográfica, se enfrentan a diversos desafíos, entre ellos, la escasez de servicios.<br/>Objetivos: El objetivo de este estudio es conocer las experiencias y vivencias de la asistencia sanitaria de la España Vaciada en la zona norte de Guadalajara.<br/>Material y método: Se diseñó un estudio descriptivo de metodología cualitativa a través de la selección de los participantes para realizar entrevistas semiestructuradas. Se seleccionaron a los participantes que vivan en la zona rural y profesionales de la salud que trabajen en la misma.<br/>Resultados: Los pacientes en zonas rurales enfrentan desafíos debido a la escasez de recursos sanitarios y la dificultad para acceder al sistema de salud local. Esta situación obstaculiza tanto el diganóstico como el tratamiento adecuado, teniendo un impacto negativo en la salud de los pacientes. Además, la falta de personal sanitario suficiente afecta directamente la atención de los pacientes, lo que contribuye a complicaciones en el manejo de enfermedades.<br/>Conclusiones: La asistencia sanitaria en la España Vaciada presenta una serie de desafíos en cuanto a la escasez de profesionales sanitarios que trabajan en los centros de salud y la falta de recursos sanitarios imprescindibles para realizar un buen diagnóstico de salud. Por consiguiente, la salud de la población rural se puede ver afectada, lo que incide en la calidad de vida de la comunidad rural en<br/>su conjunto. |

Introduction: In Spain, depopulation embodies a density of 12,5 inhabitants per square kilometer, which affects 53% of the population and more than 4,200 municipalities. The four categories that comprise the rural areas, according to the number of inhabitants, are classified in deep, stalled, transient and dynamic, all having in common not only a decrease in population but also the residents advanced age. Due to the low population density and geographical dispersion, they face various challenges, including the scarcity of services.<br/>Objectives: The aim of this study is learning about the experiences related to health care in the “Empty Spain” in the northern areas of Guadalajara.<br/>Materials and methods: A descriptive study of qualitative methodology was designed through the selection of participants who underwent semi-structured interviews. Participants selected were those living in rural areas and healthcare professionals working in the same.<br/>Results: Patients in rural areas face challenges due to the shortage of healthcare resources and difficulty acessing the local healthcare system. This situation hinders both diagnosis and proper treatment, having a negative impact on patients’ health. Additionally, the lack of sufficient healthcare personnel directly affects pacient care, contributing to complications in disease management.<br/>Conclusions: Healthcare in the “Empty Spain” faces numerous challenges including a shortage of professionals working in centres and the lack of resources necessary for an appropriate diagnosis. Therefore, the health of the rural population is adversely impacted, which is reflected in the overall quality of life of the community. |
