Antecedentes: La afectación de la articulación temporomandibular (en lo sucesivo, ATM) mediante un trastorno temporomandibular (TTM), constituye una causa importante y creciente de consulta clínica, tanto en Fisioterapia como en otros ámbitos sanitarios. Este trabajo pretende dar a conocer cuáles son las mejores herramientas del arsenal terapéutico del fisioterapeuta para enfrentarse al TTM.<br/>Objetivo: Se determinará el tipo de tratamiento que mejores resultados obtiene en el tratamiento de la ATM, atendiendo a la disminución de la sensación de dolor por parte de los pacientes, viendo la intensidad de esta, así como también a la mejoría en el rango articular, pudiendo objetivar así los resultados.<br/>Materiales y métodos: Esta revisión bibliográfica ha sido realizada en el curso académico 2022-2023, desde octubre de 2022 a abril del 2023. Las búsquedas bibliográficas han sido llevadas a cabo en tres sitios: PubMed, PEDro y CINAHL.<br/>Resultados: De las bases de datos se seleccionaron 11 artículos con 10 protocolos de tratamiento distinto, que involucraron múltiples técnicas.<br/>Conclusiones: En todas las variables analizadas, las distintas técnicas aplicadas fueron beneficiosas para los pacientes de los distintos estudios, pero se marcaron diferencias. |

Background: The affectation of the temporomandibular joint (hereinafter, TMJ) due to a temporomandibular disorder (TMD), constitutes an important and growing cause of clinical consultation, both in Physiotherapy and in other health settings. This paper aims to make known which are the best tools in the physiotherapist's therapeutic arsenal to deal with TMD.<br/>Objective: We will determine the type of treatment that obtains the best results in the treatment of TMJ, attending to the decrease in the sensation of pain by the patients, seeing the intensity of this, as well as the improvement in the joint range, thus being able to objectify the results.<br/>Materials and methods: This bibliographic review has been carried out in the 2022-2023 academic year, from October 2022 to April 2023. The bibliographic searches have been carried out in three sites: PubMed, PEDro and CINAHL.<br/>Results: From the databases, 11 articles with 10 different treatment protocols were selected, which involved multiple techniques.<br/>Conclusions: In all the variables analyzed, the different techniques applied were beneficial for the patients of the different studies, but differences were marked. |
