Summary, etc. |

Background: Hashimoto's thyroiditis is one of the most common autoimmune endocrine pathologies in the world, which usually goes hand in hand with hypothyroidism. It is characterized by an increased presence of antithyroid antibodies (anti-TPO and anti-TG).
Autoimmune diseases are conditioned by many factors, one of them may be the presence of intestinal dysbiosis, in which the amount of bacteria in the microbiota is altered and through the intestine-thyroid axis, one pathology feeds the other.
There is no pharmacological treatment for this pathology, only complementary therapies such as supplementation, nutrition or exercise.
Objectives: to observe the effects on antithyroid antibodies in patients with Hashimoto's thyroiditis by means of a therapeutic exercise proposal, to determine the effects of exercise on fatigue, to evaluate the changes in the number of bacteria of the intestinal microbiota and the decrease of clinical symptomatology of both systems.
Methodology: We propose a single-blind randomized controlled clinical trial in which subjects of both sexes between 18 and 60 years of age will suffer from Hashimoto's autoimmunity and intestinal dysbiosis. The first experimental group will do a proposal of aerobic exercise at 70% intensity and will take daily selenium supplementation of 200mcg, the second experimental group will proceed to do only the exercise and the third group, the control, will not carry out any treatment.
The level of antithyroid antibodies and TSH will be measured pre-intervention, postintervention and three months later by a blood test, the amount of bacteria in the microbiota by a stool test and intestinal dysbiosis by a SIBO test. |
