Introducción: Hoy en día el consumo de alimentos ultraprocesados supone para <br/>muchos países uno de sus principales aportes de ingesta energética total, y dado que <br/>los malos hábitos alimenticios son uno de los factores principales para patologías y <br/>problemas de salud, así como el sobrepeso y obesidad, enfermedades crónicas no <br/>transmisibles y los trastornos mentales. El presente estudio tiene como objetivo <br/>analizar si es real que el consumo de alimentos ultraprocesados o azucarados en la <br/>dieta influye sobre el riesgo de padecer trastornos mentales.<br/>Material y método: Se llevó a cabo una revisión bibliográfica en las bases de datos <br/>Pubmed, Cochrane, Psicodoc y Scielo, donde se establecieron una serie de términos <br/>en lenguaje libre y tesauros DeCS y MeSH que centrasen el tema de estudio en <br/>función de la pregunta PIO planteada, para después convertirlos en lenguaje <br/>controlado. Se excluyeron artículos que, hablando de salud, no trataban sobre salud <br/>mental, eran más antiguos de hace 5 años y sus resultados no incluían población <br/>adulta. Finalmente se seleccionaron 13 de ellos.<br/>Resultados: Se evidenció la relación entre el consumo de ultraprocesados y el riesgo <br/>de que los síntomas de trastornos mentales apareciesen a consecuencia. Por otra <br/>parte, se observó que otros factores como la actividad física, el sobrepeso u obesidad, <br/>ser joven o tener ingresos más bajos, agravaban esta evidencia.<br/>Se alcanzando un total de 13 artículos sobre estas asociaciones, 6 de ellos sobre la <br/>depresión, 5 sobre la ansiedad estrés y angustia y 2 sobre la adicción a la comida.<br/>Conclusiones: Los resultados afirmaron la relación planteada, viéndose así que, un <br/>consumo de ultraprocesados se asocia con la mala salud mental de los individuos <br/>adultos |

Introduction: Nowadays, the consumption of ultra-processed foods is for many <br/>countries one of their main contributions to total energy intake, and given that poor <br/>eating habits are one of the main factors for pathologies and health problems, such as <br/>overweight and obesity, chronic non-communicable diseases and mental disorders. <br/>The present study aims to analyze whether it is true that the consumption of ultraprocessed or sugary foods in the diet influences the risk of mental disorders.<br/>Material and method: A literature review was carried out in the Pubmed, Cochrane, <br/>Psicodoc and Scielo databases, where a series of terms were established in free <br/>language and DeCS and MeSH thesauri that focused on the study topic according to <br/>the IOP question posed, and then converted into controlled language. We excluded <br/>articles that, speaking of health, did not deal with mental health, were older than 5 <br/>years ago, and their results did not include the adult population. Finally, 13 of them <br/>were selected.<br/>Results: The relationship between the consumption of ultra-processed foods and the <br/>risk of symptoms of mental disorders appearing as a consequence was evidenced. On <br/>the other hand, it was observed that other factors such as physical activity, being <br/>overweight or obese, being young or having a lower income, aggravated this evidence.<br/>A total of 13 articles on these associations were reached, 6 of them on depression, 5 <br/>on anxiety, stress and distress and 2 on food addiction.<br/>Conclusions: The results affirmed the relationship, showing that consumption of ultraprocessed foods is associated with poor mental health in adult individuals |
