Introducción: el Kinesio® Taping o vendaje neuromuscular es una técnica de tratamiento fisioterapéutico muy empleada actualmente en la práctica de nuestra profesión, cuya principal diferencia con respecto a otras técnicas de vendaje es el mantenimiento de las amplitudes de movimiento. Objetivo: analizar la efectividad del método a través de la bibliografía encontrada. Material y método: se realizaron búsquedas en las bases de datos MedLine, Sport Discus, Cochrane, PEDro, TESEO, Clinicaltrials.gov y Science Direct; se consultó a la Kinesio® Taping Association y a la Asociación Española de Vendaje Neuromuscular, y se accedió a estudios a través de buscadores de internet, aunque algunos de ellos no se incluyeron debido a su metodología. Se incluyeron ensayos clínicos, casos clínicos y estudios de casos con metodología definida, en inglés, francés o español, sin establecer límites en cuanto a la fecha de publicación de los artículos; se excluyeron aquellos que estudiaran otras técnicas. En total, se realiza una revisión de 26 artículos. Resultados: se analizaron los resultados encontrándose globalmente exitosa la aplicación de dicha técnica en aspectos como el edema, dolor, propiocepción, fuerza muscular, circulación sanguínea y linfática, amplitud de movimiento, disfunción articular y en patologías neurológicas. Conclusiones: después del análisis y discusión de la bibliografía recopilada puede concluirse que, si bien la técnica de estudio está obteniendo resultados positivos, deben realizarse estudios científicos relevantes para contrastar la efectividad de esta técnica y que hagan de su aplicación algo menos empírico.<br/><br/> |

Introduction: Kinesio® Taping or neuromuscular bandaging is a physiotherapeutic treatment technique widely used today in the practice of our profession, whose main difference with respect to other taping techniques is the maintenance of range of motion. Objective: to analyze the effectiveness of the method through the bibliography found. Material and method: MedLine, Sport Discus, Cochrane, PEDro, TESEO, Clinicaltrials.gov and Science Direct databases were searched; the Kinesio® Taping Association and the Spanish Neuromuscular Bandage Association were consulted, and studies were accessed through Internet search engines, although some of them were not included due to their methodology. Clinical trials, clinical cases and case studies with defined methodology were included, in English, French or Spanish, without establishing limits regarding the date of publication of the articles; Those who studied other techniques were excluded. In total, a review of 26 articles is carried out. Results: the results were analyzed, finding the application of this technique to be globally successful in aspects such as edema, pain, proprioception, muscle strength, blood and lymphatic circulation, range of motion, joint dysfunction and neurological pathologies. Conclusions: after the analysis and discussion of the compiled bibliography, it can be concluded that, although the study technique is obtaining positive results, relevant scientific studies should be carried out to contrast the effectiveness of this technique and to make its application somewhat less empirical. |
