| Expansion of summary note | La protección del medio ambiente y la garantía de la salud individual y de la población son aspiraciones claras y compartidas en nuestra sociedad. Desde esta perspectiva se entiende una atención progresivamente mayor hacia una buena manipulación y gestión de los residuos en general y específicamente de los residuos sanitarios. En consecuencia se hace patente la necesidad de establecer una normativa que permita gestionar los residuos sanitarios y clínicos adaptada a las disposiciones comunitarias. Al mismo tiempo es fundamental trabajar en la formación de los profesionales implicados en el tema. |

| Summary, etc. | The protection of the environment and the guarantee of individual and population health are clear and shared aspirations in our society. From this perspective, progressively greater attention to good handling and management of waste in general and specifically of medical waste is understood. Consequently, the need to establish regulations that allow the management of medical and clinical waste adapted to community provisions becomes clear. At the same time, it is essential to work on the training of professionals involved in the subject. |
