| Summary, etc. | Los autores manifiestan su opinión sobre los modernos métodos de planificación familiar natural (PFN). Se define el concepto de PFN y se revisan sus bases científicas y sus características más notables. Posteriormente se analizan los estudios de eficacia prospectivos realizados en países desarrollados sobre el método sintotérmico. Se elige este método por ser el de mayor eficacia, menores tasas de abandono y con mayores posibilidades de días para mantener relaciones sexuales. Desde 1985 todos los estudios se encuentran por debajo de cinco en el índice de Pearl. Se explica brevemente en qué consiste el método sintotérmico. |

The concept of NFP is defined and its scientific bases and its most notable characteristics are reviewed. Subsequently, the prospective efficacy studies carried out in developed countries on the symptothermal method are analyzed. This method is chosen because it is the most effective, has the lowest dropout rates and has the greatest number of days to have sexual intercourse. Since 1985, all studies have been below five on the Pearl index. It briefly explains what the symptothermal method consists of. |
