| Summary, etc. | La triquinosis es una enfermedad parasitaria que, lejos de estar erradicada, sigue apareciendo todos los años en forma de brotes epidémicos en distintas poblaciones españolas. A pesar de su ciclo de vida simple las formas adultas del parásito, en forma de quistes, son difíciles de eliminar y pueden originar una enfermedad grave con complicaciones potencialmente mortales. Debido al gran número de síntomas que sufren los pacientes, los cuidados de enfermería en la fase aguda de la enfermedad resultan esenciales para su recuperación. En un brote epidémico de esta enfermedad ocurrido en la provincia de Jaén, se ha desarrollado un plan de cuidados de enfermería que ha resultado efectivo en la atención de los pacientes. |

Despite their simple life cycle, the adult forms of the parasite, in the form of cysts, are difficult to eliminate and can cause serious illness with life-threatening complications. Due to the large number of symptoms suffered by patients, nursing care in the acute phase of the disease is essential for their recovery. In an epidemic outbreak of this disease that occurred in the province of Jaén, a nursing care plan has been developed that has been effective in patient care. |
