Summary, etc. | Se conceptualiza a la familia como una Unidad Multipersonal de Cuidados, se justifica la necesidad de un enfoque familiar al brindar cuidados enfermeros; se señalan las principales características que ha de tener dicho enfoque; y se propone, por último, el tipo de información que se ha de recoger para planificar y brindar cuidados desde un enfoque familiar.<br/>El análisis aquí presentado se orienta desde la Teoría Enfermera de los Déficit de Autocuidado desarrollada por D. Orem, aplicada posteriormente por otras autoras en el cuidado de familias y comunidades. Algunas ideas de este artículo fueron presentadas como comunicación oral en las Jornadas <<Enfermeros buscando respuestas>> |

Summary, etc. | The family is conceptualized as a Multipersonal Care Unit, the need for a family approach when providing nursing care is justified; the main characteristics that this approach must have are indicated; and, finally, the type of information that must be collected to plan and provide care from a family approach is proposed.<br/>The analysis presented here is oriented from the Nursing Theory of Self-Care Deficits developed by D.
