Summary, etc.	INTRODUCCIÓN: El embarazo es una experiencia única y llena de cambios fisiológicos y psicológicos en la vida de la mujer. A lo largo de la historia las posiciones durante la etapa del trabajo de parto se han ido alternando libremente según el deseo <br/>y comodidad de la parturienta. Actualmente la posición más usada en el parto es la posición de litotomía o decúbito supino, puesto que facilita al profesional sanitario para acceder y realizar los procedimientos pertinentes en el parto.<br/>OBJETIVOS: Los objetivos del estudio buscan describir la influencia de la postura materna en el trabajo del parto y en su resultado.<br/>MATERIAL Y MÉTODOS: Se ha llevado a cabo una revisión bibliográfica; las búsquedas se realizaron en diferentes bases de datos como PubMed, CENTRAL y Scielo para dar respuesta a este objetivo.<br/>RESULTADOS: Fueron incluidos un total de 11 artículos para dar respuesta de forma correcta a los objetivos planteados. Variar de posiciones disminuye la duración del parto y reduce las complicaciones maternas. No se observan datos significativos que <br/>relacionen posturas maternas y complicaciones fetales.<br/>CONCLUSIÓN: Hay resultados maternos que se asocian con determinadas posiciones maternas. Aun así, no hay suficiente evidencia para establecer cuál es la mejor postura con relación a la duración del parto y complicaciones maternas y fetales.<br/>Por tanto, no se recomienda ninguna en concreto, concluyendo que la mejor postura que se puede adoptar es aquella en la que la mujer se sienta más cómoda.

Summary, etc.	INTRODUCTION: Pregnancy is a unique experience full of physiological and psychological changes in a woman's life. Throughout history the positions during the labor stage have been freely alternated according to the desire and comfort of the participant. Currently the most used position in childbirth is the position of lithotomy or supine because it facilitates the healthcare professional to access and perform the relevant procedures in childbirth.<br/>OBJETIVE: The objectives of the study seek to describe the influence of maternal posture labor and the outcome of childbirth.<br/>MATERIAL AND METHODS: A bibliographic review has been carried out. Searches were performed on different databases such as PubMed, CENTRAL and Scielo to answer this goal.<br/>RESULTS: A total of 11 articles were included to correctly respond to the objectives set out. Varying positions decreases the duration of delivery and reduces maternal complications. No significant data are observed that relate maternal postures and fetal <br/>complications.<br/>CONCLUSION: There are maternal outcomes that are associated with certain maternal positions. Still, there is not enough evidence to establish the best posture regarding the duration of delivery and maternal and fetal complications. Therefore, none is recommended, concluding that the best posture that can be taken is one in which the woman feels most comfortable.
