| Summary, etc. | La RCP consiste en la integración del tratamiento de la parada cardiorrespiratoria en un conjunto de pautas estandarizadas, cuyo fin es sustituir primero y reinstaurar después, respiración y circulación espontáneas. Se trata de un desarrollo secuencial, lo que implica que deben de aplicarse ordenadas en el tiempo. Existían diferencias de criterios que separan las recomendaciones del ERC (European Resuscitation Council), con las de la AHA (American Heart Association). En la actualidad el International Liaison Committe of Resuscitation (ILCOR) ha desarrollado una serie de recomendaciones que intentan eliminar esas diferencias, así como simplificar el número de acciones a realizar para conseguir una mayor difusión de las técnicas, lo que se traducirá en un mayor número de personas salvadas.<br/>También hay acuerdos en la incorporación de alguna terminología, y así leeremos más frecuentemente el término Soporte Vital Básico (SVB) en vez de RCP básica, o Soporte Vital Avanzado (SVA) en vez de RCP avanzada. |

| Summary, etc. | CPR consists of the integration of the treatment of cardiorespiratory arrest in a set of standardized guidelines, the purpose of which is to first replace and later reinstate spontaneous breathing and circulation. It is a sequential development, which implies that they must be applied in order in time. There were differences in criteria that separate the recommendations of the ERC (European Resuscitation Council) from those of the AHA (American Heart Association). Currently, the International Liaison Committee of Resuscitation (ILCOR) has developed a series of recommendations that try to eliminate these differences, as well as simplify the number of actions to be carried out to achieve a greater dissemination of the techniques, which will translate into a greater number of people saved.<br/>There are also agreements on the incorporation of some terminology, and thus we will more frequently read the term Basic Life Support (BLS) instead of basic CPR, or Advanced Life Support (ALS) instead of advanced CPR. |
