520 3# - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc.
520 8# - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. Cardiac arrest, whether of primary or secondary origin, requires cardiopulmonary resuscitation techniques to avoid death or brain injury. Cardiac compressions and their combination with airway control and artificial ventilation have made it possible to reverse the process of clinical death. Both the heart pump concept, as well as the thoracic pump concept, as well as others such as asynchronous ventilation, abdominal counterpulsation, cough CPR, MAST, ADC, pneumatic vest, etc., used and experienced today, are reviewed.
