Summary, etc. | Se identifican los acrónimos, siglas y abreviaturas generados en diferentes servicios del hospital, estableciendo criterios unificados de utilización y creando un listado validado por el estamento directivo del centro. Se concluye una excesiva utilización de abreviaturas en las historias clínicas (más de 30 por historia como media), y escasa conciencia por parte de los profesionales de que se esté abusando de ellas. Cambiar hábitos al respecto exige tiempo y perseverancia. |

Summary, etc. | The acronyms, acronyms and abbreviations generated in different services of the hospital are identified, establishing unified criteria of use and creating a list validated by the management of the center. It is concluded an excessive use of abbreviations in medical records (more than 30 per history on average), and little awareness on the part of professionals that they are being abused. Changing habits in this regard requires time and perseverance. |
