520 3# - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc.
520 8# - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. A drain piece forgotten in the abdominal cavity after surgery can be very hazardous and may show different clinical presentations. Because of medico legal implications these cases are seldom reported and the true magnitude of this problem is difficult to appreciate. A high index of suspicion coupled with appropiate radiologic techniques is essential to make a timely diagnosis. We report a case of a drain piece forgotten in the abdominal cavity after surgery, in a 82-years-old woman, that remained asymptomatic and that was discoverd incidentally after laparotomy resection for colorectal cancer.
