Summary, etc.
520 8# - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. This work had as objective to analyze the relationship between some consequences of educational uneasiness (Role stress and Burnout, Psychopathological symptoms, and Depression) and two cognitive variables (Irrational Beliefs and Teacher Self-efficacy) in a secondary teachers sample. Instruments used to assessed these variables were respectively, CBP-R, SCL-90-R, BDI, TIBS, and TSES. About 32% of the sample showed high level of Role stress and approximately 23% showed high Burnout. High level of Psychopathological symptoms and slight Depression were exhibited by 32% and 20% of teachers respectively. Irrational beliefs was positively correlated with Role stress, Emotional exhaustation (burnout), Psychopathological symptoms and Depression. Teachers who had the highest scores in Irrational Beliefs showed higher levels of Role stress, Somatization, Burnout and Depression.
Teacher sense of efficacy was negatively correlated with burnout, particularly with Lack of Personal Accomplishment. Teachers who scored low in Sense of efficacy had a higher mean in Burnout. Finally, these findings were compared with those
obtained by other researches and implications for cognitivebehavioral intervention in educational uneasiness problems
are discussed
