Summary, etc. |
Introduction: Among 5 and 20% of the population who comes to the hospitals' emergency rooms (HER) refers chest pain. Because of this, this symptom supposes one of the most frequent reasons of consultation in these emergency rooms. Aim: To determine the chest pain prevalence in HER and to identify those of coronary origin. Methodology: Of the whole of the assistances 207 patients with chest pain have been registered in a regional hospital, using a register with 33 variables, among them, age, sex, risk factors, previous Herat disease history, symptoms, diagnosis, treatments, time related to the symptoms and sanitary assistance and final destiny. For the qualitative variables analysis, it has been used Squared Chi, and for the quantitative variables T of Student. The results were considered significant if the critical level observed was less than 5% (p < 0,05). Results: Of the whole, 33,2% were coronary. Of these, presented oppressive pain (p<0,001), retrosternal and precordial (p=0,005), radiated (p<0,001), with vegetative symptoms (p=0,001) and with one or more risk factors (p=0,007), being statistically significant with the ones that were not coronary. Conclusions: High prevalence of chest pain, of which less of the half were diagnosed as ischaemic heart disease. Patients who presented not traumatic chest pain, oppressive and precordial radiated, with vegetative symptoms and risk factors, were presenting a coronary event. |
