| Summary, etc. | El corazón es un órgano muscular hueco localizado en la cavidad torácica. Se encuentra envuelto por una bolsa; el pericardio. El interior del corazón está formado por cuatro cavidades: dos aurículas y dos ventrículos. Presenta cuatro estructuras valvulares: dos auriculo-ventriculares y dos válvulas sigmoideas. Las cavidades derechas bombean la sangre desde la circulación sistémica hasta la circulación pulmonar y las cavidades izquierdas bombean la sangre que llega desde la circulación pulmonar a la circulación sistémica. <br/>Las contracciones auricular y ventricular del corazón deben producirse en una secuencia específica y con un intervalo apropiado para que el trabajo de bombeo sea lo más eficaz posible. Esta coordinación se logra por el sistema de conducción del corazón que es capaz de iniciar y transmitir impulsos eléctricos que controlan esta actividad. Diversas anomalías de este sistema de conducción del impulso pueden provocar arritmias que pueden ser desde inofensivas hasta graves con riesgo de muerte. |

| Summary, etc. | The heart is a hollow muscle organ located in the chest cavity. It is wrapped by a bag; pericardium. The inside of the heart is made up of four chambers: two atria and two ventricles. It has four valvular structures: two auculan-ventricular and two sigmoid valves. The right cavities pump blood from the systemic circulation to the pulmonary circulation and the left cavities pump blood from the lung circulation to the systemic circulation. <br/>Atrial and ventricular contractions of the heart should occur in a specific sequence and at an appropriate interval to make pumping work as effective as possible. This coordination is achieved by the conduction system of the heart that is able to initiate and transmit electrical impulses that control this activity. Various anomalies of this impulse conduction system can cause arrhythmias that can range from harmless to severe with risk of death. |
