El endotelio es un tipo de epitelio plano simple, formado por células endoteliales (CE) que recubren el interior de todos los vasos sanguíneos. Al producirse un daño endotelial se liberan sustancias que ponen en marcha el complejo proceso de la aterogénesis. Por tanto, el diagnóstico temprano de esta lesión resulta de gran importancia para establecer programas de tratamiento y prevención. El marcador más ampliamente extendido de la disfunción endotelial (DE) es la dilatación dependiente del endotelio medida a través de la técnica de la Pletismografía. |
