| Summary, etc. | En un mundo feliz posmoderno como el actual, la muerte es evitada, escondida, probablemente porque nos enfrenta al límite. Este trabajo intenta sacar a la luz algunos de sus aspectos, abordando un análisis de las actitudes del personal de enfermería del Hospital<br/>Sagrado Corazón de Jesús de Huesca ante la cuestión. Se presenta la lectura de una serie de entrevistas en profundidad,<br/>realizadas al personal de enfermería del mencionado hospital. La observación participante es otra de las técnicas<br/>cualitativas empleadas por la autora.<br/>Como anticipo a las conclusiones: los entrevistados se decantan por el uso de sedantes y analgésicos, con prescripción facultativa, para aliviar el sufrimiento de los pacientes; consideran la eutanasia pasiva como solución aceptable en casos irreversibles; no han recibido formación suficiente para hacerse cargo del duelo; han incluido la prestación de cuidados paliativos en su práctica profesional diaria aunque sin el desarrollo de protocolo alguno; creen que la información debería darse conjuntamente por parte de médicos y enfermeros; consideran que el papel más importante de enfermería es estar al lado<br/>del enfermo moribundo y aceptan como algo natural la muerte de la mayoría de los pacientes, de edad avanzada. |

| Summary, etc. | In a happy postmodern world like the present one, death is avoided, hidden, probably because it faces the limit. This work tries to bring to light some of its aspects, addressing an analysis of the attitudes of the nursing staff of the Hospital Sacred Heart of Jesus of Huesca before the question. The reading of a series of in-depth interviews is presented, made to the nursing staff of the mentioned hospital. Participant observation is another technique qualitative used by the author.<br/>In anticipation of the conclusions: the interviewees opt for the use of sedatives and analgesics, with optional prescription, to alleviate the suffering of patients; they consider passive euthanasia as an acceptable solution in irreversible cases; they have not received enough training to take over the duel; they have included the provision of palliative care in their daily professional practice although without the development of any protocol; they believe that the information should be given jointly by doctors and nurses; they believe that the most important role of nursing is to be next of the dying patient and accept as something natural the death of most elderly patients. |
